Congratulations! COSMOPlat AIoT Wins Its First International Gold Award in Quality Management!

On November 14, good news arrived from Sri Lanka! The “Pinnacle” QC team of COSMOPlat AIoT Jiaozhou Interconnected Factory won the Gold Award at the 2024 International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) with its project “Development of a Non-standard Flexible Heat Sink Locking and Forming Machine.”

Aiming Overseas, Striving for the Pinnacle

The International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) was jointly initiated by industry standardization associations from 13 countries and regions, including the China Association for Quality, the Singapore Productivity Association, and the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers. Since its first edition in 1976, the ICQCC has been held successfully 49 times. Known as the “Olympics of Quality” for its scale, breadth, and influence, the ICQCC represents the highest level of quality management group activities worldwide.

This year's convention, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, was themed “Breaking Boundaries: Pursuing Quality, Productivity and Innovation.” It brought together over 1,900 teams from 13 countries and regions to share and exchange quality improvement and innovation achievements.

Formed in August 2021, the “Pinnacle” QC team at COSMOPlat AIoT Jiaozhou Interconnected Factory consists of experts from production, equipment, quality, and engineering. Centered around the company’s business strategy, the team aims to drive quality innovation, improve production efficiency, and enhance product reputation.

The registered project, launched in September 2022, initially relied on semi-automatic equipment for bending and forming components, followed by manual gluing of heat sinks and screw fastening to meet order requirements. To meet higher performance demands, the team moved beyond customized jigs and fixtures to develop intelligentized production with automated quality inspection, automated tray arrangement, and end-to-end digitalized operations. This resulted in significant gains in both efficiency and quality.

With clear task division and PDCA-driven processes, the team flexibly applied quality tools such as and relationship diagrams for scientific analysis, validated improvement measures, and ensured sustainability through institutionalized practices. The team’s efforts yielded remarkable results, including nine national patent applications (three invention patents and six utility models).

Endless Learning, Unlimited Innovation

Since its establishment, the team has generated over RMB 1 million (USD 140,000+) in economic benefits for the company. At the same time, members have made breakthroughs in quality awareness, innovation capabilities, teamwork, and proficiency with QC tools. The innovative results have already been replicated across five other COSMOPlat AIoT factories, highlighting its high scalability and industry promotion value.

In early 2024, recommended by the Qingdao Quality Management Association, the team qualified through the China Association for Quality to present at the 49th ICQCC. Preparing in line with international standards, the team refined abstracts, polished results, and translated reports to ensure excellence.

At the convention, the team impressed judges with outstanding project outcomes, fluent English presentations, solid technical expertise, and seamless teamwork. Their performance showcased Qingdao Lingzhi Electronics Co., Ltd.’s pursuit of excellence in quality and craftsmanship, ultimately winning the ICQCC Gold Award

Perseverance Leads to Breakthroughs

Since 2022, COSMOPlat AIoT Jiaozhou Interconnected Factory has advanced steadily from learning QC, to practicing QC, to competing in QC. From internal competitions, to Qingdao Quality Association’s publishing stage, to moving from third prize to first prize, to recognition at the China National Light Industry Council and the China Electronics Quality Management Association, and later to the Shandong Quality Association stage—each step has been one of progress.

Now, winning the ICQCC International Gold Award is a historic breakthrough and a milestone achievement, serving as a vivid reflection of the company's commitment to Total Quality Management (TQM).

Moving forward, COSMOPlat AIoT Jiaozhou Interconnected Factory will remain committed to the Group’s quality philosophy, positioning new productive forces as the strategic driver of growth.
